Abstract polaroids

(2017-ongoing)

This series is an attempt to marry opposing methods of production and seemingly incongruent ideologies.  Utilizing a plain Polaroid negative, unprocessed and without a camera, I apply manual techniques to the image in an attempt to steer the developing chemicals throughout the space.  Each attempt is a unique experience and juxtaposition of shapes and tones.  Bringing these Polaroids into the computer then allows a second, further removed form of manipulation via digital format.  The end result is a combination of analog imagery, manual pressure, and digital application.
